David Steele, Chairman of Greater Statesville Development Corporation has announced today that John Marek has accepted the new position of Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator. John began work today.
“John brings excellent experience to this position from his business development background. He also has experience working as a consultant with several institutions from the NC Community College system. Both types of experience will be helpful because GSDC is partnering with Mitchell Community College to bring business and retention services to Iredell County. We are very excited to have someone with this level of skill and experience join our team,” said Steele.
Mike Smith, Director at GSDC said, “John has a strong background in survey methods and strategic planning, which will add value for our clients as we look to find ways to help them expand their business. In addition, he has worked with a number of different manufacturers to help them develop marketing materials, and has specific experience working in the plastics and automotive industries.”
Mr. Marek has a BS in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.
