Eddies's Welding, Inc., a manufacturer of fabricated metal products for the commercial, agricultural and transportation industries, has announced that it is building a new 18,900 sq/ft building adjacent to its existing 8,750 sq/ft facility in Stony Point. The building will consist of 17,500 sq/ft of manufacturing space and 1,400 sq/ft of office space. Company president Eddie Dellinger said that the expansion is needed to keep up with new business, especially a contract with a Roanoke-based supplier of parts to the railroad industry, The company currently employs 18, and Dellinger indicated there are no immediate plans to add to that, stating that the expanded building will give his existing employees space to do their jobs more efficiently and provide room for future growth opportunities. Construction of the new building began in late June and should be completed by Labor Day, with certain operations phasing into the new space shortly thereafter.
