Dana Corporation Off-Highway Division Relocates Sales And Engineering Office To Downtown Statesville
12/21/2007
The continuing effort to revitalize downtown Statesville received a major boost today as Dana Corporation announced the relocation of its Off-Highway Sales and Engineering Office to the former Wachovia building at the corner of Broad and Tradd Streets. This office, which employs 35 full-time personnel in administrative, sales, engineering and technical support positions, was previously located at the Dana Corporation facility on Glenway Drive near I-77. The recent sale of the Dana building to Doosan Infracore International prompted the move.

Dana considered several sites in the Greater Statesville area before settling on the 9,500 square foot downtown location. With the move, Dana becomes downtown Statesville’s largest private-sector employer.

“DSDC is excited to welcome the Dana Corporation Off-Highway Sales and Engineering Office into Downtown Statesville,” said Bob Dooley, Downtown Statesville Development Corporation Chairman. “We are thrilled to have the Old Wachovia Building become an active part of downtown again. Downtown Statesville is the perfect location for offices such as Dana. Their employees will have access to banks, great shopping and restaurants, business/professional services and government… all within a short walk from their office.”

Greater Statesville Development Corporation Chairman David Steele also expressed his enthusiasm over the announcement, "We're excited to have Dana's Off-Highway Division moving their sales and engineering offices to downtown Statesville and occupying the vacant, former Wachovia building. A vibrant downtown is one of the key elements in a healthy community and this move will help keep Statesville's downtown vibrant and growing."

Harry Tsumas of WEICHERT REALTORS - Amity Partners helped facilitate the transaction, “Working with people in Statesville, Salisbury, Toledo and Michigan, we were able to put a deal together in only few days.  F&M Bank and the Dana Corporation were both very cooperative and had a “get it done” attitude. I’m very excited that Dana has decided to move to downtown Statesville.  I am proud that WEICHERT REALTORS - Amity Partners was able to help negotiate the deal.  Ken Andres from Dana and Dan Williams from F&M Bank were very cooperative as they lead their groups. Also working as Brokers on the deal were Joe Jackson of Metrolina Capital Advisors and Dave Miller of Signature Associates.”

The Greater Statesville Development Corporation would like to recognize the following partners in this significant announcement for our community: the City of Statesville, Iredell County, the NC Department of Commerce, the NC Community College System, and the Greater Statesville Committee of 100.
